Kinda contra Dr Frank, Richard Reid, if guilty of waging war against the US (to pick a charge out of the air) is, AFAIK, guilty of treason under UK law. "Waging war" against our allies also counts as treason, if I remember the law on this. Of course, though there's lots of talk of treason remaining a capital crime, he'll get far more stringent sentencing over in Boston. And he should: it's not as though he didn't know exactly what he was doing. What's the tariff for terrorist conspiracy in the States?
Hmmm. Can't quite get everything to work as I'd like in HTML terms. However, it's snowing nicely, so the real world gets to distract me from that. Except that I've got an awful lot of driving to do over the next couple of days. Please don't snow, please don't snow, please don't snow.
Headlines can be very misleading, but it can be very easy to judge some articles by them. For example, you know where anything with "quagmire" in the title is going, and can avoid it if you haven't had your pills yet. Similarly, if it's in the "World News" section and it says "The Independent" at the top, you're likely to be annoyed by it. In this case, the title "Hunt for bin Laden Loses Steam as Winter Grips Afghan Caves" (which pretty much matches the content) reminds me of a lot of predictions about Kandahar. Here's hoping.
